Kofi Christie

Current Research:
The goal for the research comprising my dissertation is to evaluate and mitigate scaling-related membrane failure in membrane distillation (MD) by investigating the influence of operating parameters, cleaning strategies, and membrane properties on scaling while making use of in-situ characterization methods.

Interests:
When I'm not in the lab working, you can usually catch me at home playing the bass guitar or at the skatepark rollerblading. I also like to read books and online articles that focus on sociology, economics, and/or religion.

Outlook:
I hope to use my graduate school experience to one day make a difference in the lives of the generations that come after me.

Selected Honors and Awards:
- Recipient of 2nd Prize (of 30+) for Best Poster Presentations at Society of Physics Students Quadrennial Congress (American Physical Society, 2012)
- Member of National Physics Honor Society (American Physical Society, 2014)
- Recipient of Jack H. Skirball Scholarship for Leadership (United Negro College Fund, 2014)
- Recipient of NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (National Science Foundation, 2015)

Peace!
